Ross Buchan joined Greener Golf in mid-2025 as a Systems Analyst whose work focuses on quantifying the environmental sustainability and social impact of golf courses. With a basis in ecology, data analysis, and social justice, Ross sees a future for the golf industry in which courses can provide significant ecosystem services and serve as places of community building and sustainable land management.

Ross attended graduate school at the University of Michigan, where he earned a master’s degree in Sustainable Systems. He attended undergrad at the University of South Carolina, where he studied Economics and Environmental Studies. Since 2015, he has directed The New Vision School, a nonprofit in Tanzania, managing fundraising and project development. He has also worked in financial services and political consulting.
